I went to HomeSense in Lakeside and wish I’d knew about it sooner – Essex Live

Every British shopper will have heard of, if not shopped in, TKMaxx. However, many may not know that the brand has its own separate homeware stores. HomeSense can be found in most TKMaxx stores and across America but there are also a number of separate shops across the UK, including three in Essex.

Somehow, I had never been in a HomeSense store and didn’t really know what it was until I was invited down to the one in Lakeside to take a look. From the minute I walked in I was in love, and couldn’t believe I had been depriving myself of such a shop.

Instore you can buy all kinds of home furniture and accessories. There are sofas, coffee tables, rugs, lamps, mirrors, artwork, pet beds and more.

Inside HomeSense

Something I noticed pretty quickly was that this shop is full of alternative goods which were perfect for me as I’m not a fan of monochrome decor that seems to be everywhere. There were a number of pink chairs which I loved and would have got if I had space at home.

There were also lots of lovely sofas in colours such as green, midnight blue, yellow and blush pink. I also really liked how there were only one, maybe two of most items which made them feel a bit more unique.

Wandering around I was really impressed with how diverse the range is at HomeSense. There was a whole section full of glasses with every kind you can think of, wine, gin, margarita, beer and more – and they were all reasonably priced.

The colourful selection of plates

Sticking with the dining theme, there were also lots of colourful plates that gave some serious Mediterranean vibes and table accessories to go with them. HomeSense also has a bathroom section with laundry storage, bath accessories and artwork all for sale.

Even though it was only July, HomeSense had a huge, well-stocked Halloween range in store, full of some amazing products for lovers of the ‘spooky season’. As well as classic Halloween decorations, there were also kitchen items, cooking tools, glasses, blankets, door mats and even pet toys all with a Halloween theme.

I loved these chairs

I was so impressed with the Halloween range and would recommend that anyone who wants to plan ahead to pay the shop a visit. I cannot wait to see what Christmas items they get in later in the year.

I bought my first house back in December 2020 and really wish I had known about HomeSense as it would have made furnishing the home much easier. I still cannot believe that I had never been shopping there before, however, I can guarantee that I will now be a regular customer.
