Thanet: New Poundland to open in former Tesco site in Broadstairs – Kent Live
A new Poundland store is set to open in the former Tesco site in Broadstairs this week. The new 4,000sqft store has been designed to offer ‘customers a wide range of items at prices to help offset the impact of higher inflation’.
The new store, on High Street, is set to officially open on Saturday (September 10) at 9am. The store will employ 18 full and part-time colleagues.
The shop will offer Poundland’s core range, including groceries, household products, health and beauty, stationery, toys and batteries, as well as a selection of chilled and frozen foods and snacks.

It will also sell a wide range of Poundland’s PEP&CO clothing for the whole family. As well as womenswear, menswear and kidswear, it feature PEP&CO Home items from the latest 2022 ranges including storage options, faux plants, ornaments, photo frames and bathroom accessories.
The new investment in the new town centre store marks a vote of confidence in Broadstairs and Kent. It follows the opening in August of the Poundland store at Marshwood Close Retail Park, Canterbury.
Poundland director of retail, Darren Kay, said: “Our new Broadstairs store is in a fantastic location, right in the heart of the town, and we think local residents and visitors will love it. Whether customers are at home or on holiday, we’ll offer them the amazing range and value they’ve come to expect from Poundland and which is more important than ever while people’s budgets are under so much pressure.”
The new Broadstairs store will complement Poundland’s existing network of stores in Kent, including Ashford, Margate, Deal, Maidstone, Gillingham, Chatham, Sevenoaks, Tonbridge, and Swanley.
